Cunningham Legal was founded by Amy Cunningham, who studied at Oxford University and then trained and qualified as a solicitor in the Employment law team at CMS Cameron McKenna in 2007.

She remained at the firm for 9 years, gaining a wealth of experience of advising both employers and employees on the full range of employment law and HR issues.  During this time she was seconded twice to work in a global investment bank, first as an employment lawyer in the Legal team and later as an employee relations specialist within HR, which gave her a new perspective on the issues faced by both employers and employees in practice, and a fresh approach to her work as an employment lawyer. 

Recognising that there was a gap in the market for a dynamic and entrepreneurial new law firm focused on providing the same high quality advice as larger firms but at a fraction of the cost, Amy founded Cunningham Legal in 2015.

She has since been joined by Huw Price and Paul Lane, both highly experienced Employment lawyers with backgrounds in top City firms.

Due to their track record and unwavering commitment to delivering value for clients, most of the firm’s work comes from recommendations and referrals.

Paul Lane joined Cunningham Legal in 2024 having previously founded and run Lane Graham Solicitors, a specialist Employment law practice based in Canary Wharf, since 2007.

He has over 25 years’ experience advising on a wide range of employment law matters focussing more recently on advising on redundancies, severance packages and settlement agreements.

Huw Price joined Cunningham Legal in October 2016 having previously worked alongside Amy in the employment team at CMS Cameron McKenna LLP.  

Huw trained and qualified as a solicitor in the Employment team at CMS in 2003 and was subsequently promoted to the role of Senior Associate. He has more than 20 years' experience acting for a broad range of clients in numerous sectors and has specialist expertise in advising on a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Huw has been recognised in the Legal 500 as a ‘valuable resource’ for clients.
